Horizons is a Knowledge- and Experience sharing Forum with focus on SAP Technologies and IT Strategy. The starting point for the discussions is the great changes and technological challenges and tendencies of this day and age, focusing on what SAP brings to the marked and the community brings back to SAP.
The forum centers around…
▪ Professional dialog and sparring
▪ Technical Insights from Experts
▪ Knowledge sharing with other SAP companies
Plenty of companies are in the middle of a great technology transition with Cloud Transformation, Customer experience and the Digital Mindset and this is a chance to get other perspectives and horizons on that journey, preparing you for the current and future challenges your company is facing.
The Story of Horizons
We often encounter the same challenges at different companies and most of these could have been circumvented if the companies only knew what others had done in the same situation. There is so much happening on the transformation and technology side that organizations are struggling to keep up and adapt at a pace that satisfy the requirements of the business when faced with disruptive technologies and an increased competitive situation. We wanted to mix our experience into the pool and allow everyone to benefit from the accumulated knowledge of the SAP technology scene in Denmark. Bringing our experience and insights to the table also adds a foundation for discussing and gain greater knowledge for the companies participating in an open dialog.
Digital Transformation is difficult, so why would you want to try alone?

Description: “Back to Standard during the SAP S/4 HANA Transition”
One of the most central topics coming up when planning the journey to SAP S/4 HANA is how to approach the custom code. Running on SAP HANA certain statements and coding practices for the ABAP platform changes and in combination with more modern approaches to ABAP development, including the RESTful ABAP Programming Model, a central topic becomes how to handle the existing code base.
What to shift? What to remove/deprecate? What to upgrade or recode? What to move out of the Core and what to keep it?
The last question opens up a vital discussion: What is the Core?
When SAP and Partners refer to “Clean Core” and the “Back to SAP Standard” what is actually meant by this and how does this impact your SAP S/4 HANA transition and the team supporting it.
Learn how to avoid the mistakes of the past and turn your Custom Development efforts into a well-oiled machine that matches your ambitions on your Business Suite.
Understand the impact and necessary prerequisites for modern Application Life-cycle Management around your ABAP Platform and what to shift to other platforms, such as SAP BTP.
Take this chance to understand where the line in the sand can be drawn and where it makes sense to rethink the current and past approach to Business Suite Customer enhancements.
If you do not challenge the way you do it today no one will.
