For many companies deciding on which path to chose when migrating to SAP S/4 HANA a large portion goes for the Privately Managed Edition instead of the Public Cloud Edition, despite having plenty of experience with consuming Software-as-a-Service solutions. Engaging with these in talks it become apparent that many fear the lack of extensibility and adaptability of the Public Cloud Edition and much of this is based in the absurd level of changes most companies do with their SAP ERP system. While everyone complains about the costs of upgrade and the high maintenance cost of the enormous software additions added straight into the core system for many the idea of a true Clean Core becomes an illusive wish for the future.
However, we want to put a bit of context and insights into this area and we are therefore proud to present another Open Innovation Day event – this time focused on showcasing the power and impact of using SAP Business Technology Platform to add needed the flexibility within the SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Edition, while keeping the maintenance and upgrade cost to a minimum.
As always all extensions and solutions built will be fully open sourced and available on GitHub following the event.
Practicalities
The event will take place on the 29th of May at Hindsgavl Castle (Hindsgavl Alle 7, 5500 Middelfart) and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
6 companies will participate, bringing a business solution owner and an IT architect and will be assigned a skilled full stack developer that will help them build an Extension to SAP S/4 HANA – Public Cloud Edition together with experts from SAP. The most innovative solution will of course be celebrated by the prestigious trophy that is for the winner to keep.
Sign-up is required and will follow a first-come-first-serve, but with the option of being added to a waiting list if the program is full.
